School Meals
Our hot school meals are provided by a local supplier at a cost of £2.30 per day. Children can choose from four different options every day, and a desert/fruit and milk are always included.
Hot dinners are ordered in advance - a menu is sent home every Thursday, and must be returned by noon the following Tuesday.
UNIVERSAL FREE SCHOOL MEAL SCHEME
Under the government’s Universal Free School Meal scheme, all children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are now entitled to a daily hot school dinner. Even if your child is taking advantage of the Universal Free School Meals, if you think they may be eligible for free meals because of your current circumstances we would urge you to apply for formal ‘Free School Meal’ status (see below). This means that the school would receive additional funding for your child, and you would have access to subsidies for school trips and other school-based events.
FREE SCHOOL MEAL ELIGIBILITY
If you are claiming certain benefits, your child may be entitled to free school meals. If you think your child may be eligible, please enquire at the school office, where our team will be able to advise you. For more information, visit the Lincolnshire County Council website at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals
PACKED LUNCHES
Children having a packed lunch should be encouraged to bring their packed lunches in suitable containers, clearly labelled with their name. Please do not send your child with fizzy drinks, sweets, chewing gum or large bars of chocolate – a Kit Kat is fine! We are encouraging healthy eating in school and appreciate parents’ and carers’ support with this. Glass containers, of any description, are not allowed.
