• white blouse or polo shirt;
• red cardigan, jumper or sweatshirt;
• red and white dress may be worn in the summer;
• grey or black knee length shorts in the summer;
Children should wear proper sensible black school shoes, not coloured trainers. Only earrings of a close-fitting type may be worn. No other style is allowed for your child’s own safety. Only one earring in each lobe is allowed and these should be removed for P.E. Watches may be worn as their use is considered beneficial in learning how to tell the time, however, they should be removed for all physical activity. Hair decorations should be discreet and be in the school colours. Make up and nail varnish are not permitted in school. Hair should not be coloured or have decorative patterns cut into it.
PE Uniform Expectations
Over recent months, we have noticed a gradual decline in the consistency of PE uniform across the school. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to remind families of our expectations and to provide a little time before September for any necessary items to be purchased. We have also made a few small clarifications to our current PE uniform guidance.
PE uniform throughout the year should consist of:
- Black, non-branded PE shorts or PE skirt
- A red, non-branded T-shirt (or a Redwood embossed T-shirt)
- Trainers
For colder weather, children may also wear:
- Black, non-branded jogging bottoms.
- A black or red, non-branded, non-hooded sweatshirt
The requirement for sweatshirts to be non-hooded is important, as hoods can present a safety risk during PE lessons and physical activities.
Please also ensure that:
- All jewellery is removed before school on PE days.
- Long hair is tied back securely.
We appreciate your support in helping children arrive prepared for PE so that they can make the most of every lesson. These changes will enable us to maximise learning time, increase children's physical activity and continue to provide a high-quality PE curriculum for all.
To ensure the smooth running of our classes and to cause the least amount of stress (to all), we ask you to ensure that all your child’s items of clothing are labelled clearly with their name.
